2 years & 10,000 hours later…Noyack Investing Club is HERE!

Last week, the NOYACK team hit a huge milestone, launching a new and improved version of our digital home WeAreNoyack.com.

We’ve rebuilt the website from the ground up to reflect NOYACK’s investing for love philosophy, our unique take on the tried-and-true goals-based investing approach.

Today, we’re going to walk through the new NOYACK site, exploring a few of the ideas and concepts that will guide our community over the coming years.

If you have any feedback on the new approach, our email is always open – just reply to this newsletter!

Brian sat down to walk through the new NOYACK website and explain the vision behind the decisions we made to build this revolutionary platfrom - check it out below.

What is Investing for Love?

Our refreshed site is centered around investing for love, the guiding principle of NOYACK’s approach to personal finance and investing.

We’ve touched on this idea before, but here’s a quick recap of the concept – and why it’s so important:

  • Investing for love is NOYACK’s interpretation of the well-established idea of goals-based investing.

  • We emphasize love precisely because the rest of the financial world does not – and ultimately, it’s love (for your future self, for your family, for the world…) that drives investment.

  • Investing for love does not mean sacrificing wealth or investment returns…

  • … but it does mean using wealth to achieve goals beyond mere materialism or conspicuous consumption

Investing for love is about using wealth to enjoy more of this:

Not more of this:

But Why Now?

The idea of investing for love has been kicking around in my head since my first days in the investment industry.

But every idea has its moment – and I truly believe that the moment for investing for love is right now.

There’s one big reason why…

The Great Wealth Transfer

We’re currently in the midst of one of the largest generational transitions in history, with Baby Boomers passing away and leaving wealth to their heirs – including Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z investors.

The numbers speak for themselves:

$69 trillion

The amount that’s expected to be left to heirs through 2045.

~75%

The portion of investors aged 21-43 who believe you can’t achieve above-market returns with only traditional investments.

70%+

The portion of investors likely to fire or change their advisors after inheriting their parents’ wealth.

Simply put, there is a huge sum of money passing to investors with wildly different preferences than their parents – and judging by the “business as usual” approach I’m seeing, the vast majority of the investment industry hasn’t figured that out yet.

So, why is NOYACK embracing investing for love now?

Precisely because now is the moment that a new investment paradigm can make the biggest difference for young investors.

Finding Your ‘Why’

NOYACK’s mission is to help younger investors achieve their goals – but not all investors have the same goals.

One major component of our new site is helping you find your why for investing.

There are a huge range of reasons for investing – but we identified the four that have the greatest potential to connect with young investors: family, retirement, diversification, and impact

Connecting with your ‘why’ is crucial for setting investment goals and making financial decisions - but we also know that some investors connect with more than one why.

For instance, you can be interested in building generational wealth for your children while also accelerating your retirement timeline.

And you can certainly pursue impact investing while also aiming to improve the resiliency of your portfolio through alternatives.

In fact, this consideration is what led us to focus on a few key asset classes for our initial fund offerings – asset classes that can help investors who care about one specific goal and also those who care about myriad different ones:

  • Venture Capital is a long-term, high-return-potential asset class (NVC.01 fund).

  • Fine Art is a diversifying asset class with close ties to philanthropy (NFA.01 fund).

  • Real Estate is an income-generating asset class with a track record of steady growth (NREIT1 and NREIT2 funds).

Learning & Growing Together

The final essential component of our new site is the collection of educational resources we’ve put together for young investors.

I remember what it was like to start out in the investment world, feeling out of my depth and wishing I had some sort of comprehensive guidance.

That’s exactly why we put together a dedicated knowledge base for our community to access.

This knowledge base includes financial guides, an investment glossary, and, of course, our world-famous NOYACK Wealth Weekly newsletter.

But the investment tool I’m most excited about is our revolutionary new NOYACK AI – a proprietary small-language model trained on our internal resources to be an interactive assistant as you explore the site.

As NOYACK grows, educating young investors will continue to be at the forefront of our efforts – and I’m phenomenally excited about the potential of AI in improving access to financial knowledge for all investors, not just the wealthy.

We’ll have a lot more to say about our education efforts soon. Stay tuned for the launch of the NOYACK Wealth Club later this year!
